Changes to entry requirements to UK?
« on: December 22, 2021, 15:44. »
Confused I am.
I thought day 8 test was purely for the unvaxxed and/or
red list travellers. What's the situation for a 3x vaxxed
going back?

Unless I'm very much mistaken it's still an antigen test before you leave Spain and a Day 2 test after arrival into UK

Yep it’s still either an antigen or pcr in Spain and a day 2 pcr in uk and then quarantine until you get negative result as far as I can see unless Boris has changed it again the unvacced need a day 8 as well and quarantine until, they get a negative result

But it might have changed I only looked this morning

We had our Antigen tests at Salvum (40€ each).
Booked our day2 tests with Randox. Tested at home in UK
and dropped off both at Randox Liverpool. Mine was acknowledged
following day, and the result also. However, my wife´s was not . I rang twice within their
office hours, but gave up after 15 minutes or more. So the outcome was
that her sample was not registered, nor the result confirmed. I also emailed
their customer care section, but no reply was received.
It was over Christmas admittedly, but even so it suggests that Randox aren't up to it.

Sounds like the pre flight test in Spain to fly home to the UK will be dropped, decision this week, sounds good as we are off to GA in week, will still have to take a day 2 PCR when home.

Annoyingly I sent off for two test to return kits, the day before they said they could possibly be dropped.

They aren't stopping the second day PCR test to be taken back in the UK, they are saying the preflight test you take in Spain before returning home is likely to be dropped.

Boris has just announced that from 4 am Friday we don’t need a pre departure test to return to UK anymore. Just got to get the PCR day 2 removed and life can be normal.
It’s a bit pointless to leave the 2 day test in when there are so many cases in UK

Boris must have read your post Spurs - PCR Day2 tests dropped and replaced with lateral flow tests.

Result I have been advising him but he doesn’t take criticism well so I suspect he is ignoring me. I can’t work out if the day 2 lateral flow test is now strictly day 2 as previously it was up to day 2 also if that is positive do we have to pay for the pcr test.

Good news re dropping of pre flight tests back to UK, will save me some money as going out to GA shortly. I've booked my two day PCR tests via Confirm testing, all you get is two CONFI numbers for me and the wife, no doc to download, I queried it and you put a confi number on your UK locator form when you return home, don't matter which one you use as they aren't tied to a name. Also the kits are despatched before you travel to Spain.

Kevin most of the post to home pcr tests are like that no document just a code. You only need a lateral flow from 4 am Friday

I think it’s time to stop all the testing unless you are ill. If you look at the numbers being quoted as new infections daily it’s gonna run out of people soon .

can i assume that in jan you dont need a test to come back to UKj just do a L.F.T test back home.  do we still have to show a locator form and show your proof of jabs ?
