On a lighter subject - Water

We lived in Tenerife for 16 years. Now we live in GA. In Tenerife, a few people left 5-8 ltr water bottles oustide
their properties. But here it is done far more. Can anyone tell me the purpose of this?

....apparantaly its to stop dogs cocking their leg on your gate post....the sound puts them off.....old wifes tale or not I do not know, but that's what the folk who do it tell me.

It is true. If you just tie a 2 litres plus bottle of water to any dogs leg and it makes it impossible for them to lift their legs or at least the leg that has the bottle attached to it!
