Light bulb moment
« on: February 08, 2020, 14:27. »
We bought  a standard light from IKEA online, and of course it didn't include a light bulb.
Not just any light bulb tho'. A GX58 led dimmer bulb, which IKEA sell, but I don't fancy a 40 minute drive if I can help it.
Any ideas anyone? Btw, Euronics don't stock it.

The Chinese bazaars sell a variety of light bulbs.  You may be lucky but it would help if you had an old one to compare.  Not really possible in your circumstances perhaps.

Try Brico (near Euronics).

Many thanks, I've decided to go online to amazon.es. It's costing more, but is a good way of testing whether the likes of Amazon can find our location. Given that IKEA couldn't. Their online form had a field which allowed me to quote my GPS co-ordinates. It's due today :-\

Well, Amazon found us thanks to my GPS (we're off-grid via Google Maps). Only thing is, the bulb didn't work.
According to reviews, this appears to be a common complaint. But Ikea continue to sell both the lamp and the bulb.
After trying double sided sticky tape, and a dab of superglue, I eventually got the thing working with a sticky tab that
my wife uses for card-making. Woopee :D
