Well we were out in January and at El Pinet beach there were a few people in the sea so late October the sea is probably not too bad, pools will be cool to cold though.

Reality here. The pools will be freezing, and for the most part closed. I cannot imagine what pool on what urb would be open in October? Sorry!

Novamar 5, pool always open in October.
A tad chilly, but once you’re in and swimming it’s ok.
In the October half term week there are always families with young ones on holiday and the little ones seem to spend quite a bit of time in there, hardy creatures!!
The sea, still gorgeous

Gran Alacant urb pools are open all year. Weather is usually still very warm Oct half term, although it can sometimes rain a bit. My kids have always swam in the pool then, although I find it a bit chilly. Sea is still lovely to swim in at that time of year.

Over the years, our last date for the sea has been Nov 27th.

I well remember one January, sat on the beach down at Arenalas, a paddle had proven how cold the sea was, too cold for me, but it still looked very appealing.
An old Spanish lady came and sat not far from us, after a little while off she set towards the sea, I was a little surprised when she walked straight in, no hesitation and started swimming.
That was enough of a challenge for me so off I set, gritted my teeth, no hesitation, straight in.....boy was that refreshing!!
I got out well before she did.
I had a chat to her when she came out and told her that I thought it was very cold, she told me that she did it every day and had got used to it......
Here at home in the UK I see folk in the sea most days, in wet suits, perhaps they have the same philosophy, I won’t be checking it out.
The Caribbean over the last few weeks has been just fine for me.

Most of the pools are still open in October, however too cold for me then - prefer the sea which is still warm!

Having said that, we have plenty of families who book for October and do enjoy the pools too!

At the other end of the year, I recall that back in May 2017 it seemed to have been a particularly cold Spring and the sea was decidedly chilly in mid May. It was the first time that I had waded in at that time of year and then thought 'Nah, perhaps not'.
