We use http://www.email-car-hire.com/car_hire/alicante.html or http://www.xtra-car-hire.com   For email car hire you must add on the cost of petrol and cost of additional driver (and we turn down their add on insurance when at the counter).  With Xtra car hire the price you pay is all inc. plus you have the added advantage of not queuing at a counter as they meet you in the car park.  For a long stay they are comparable so we would chose Xtra for convenience but for a short break email car hire come out cheapest for us.  Hope that is of help

Hi Pauline, the best advice I picked up on car hire over recent years is to keep on checking the price, if it's lower cancel and rebook, you can save a small fortune by doing this.

Hi Pauline,
Try doyouspain............www.doyouspain.com compares most suppliers and you can filter out those to avoid (Firefly) and compare the different options i.e. full/full fuel or full/empty etc
Check the T&C's to make sure you don't get hit for the €25 charge for logistics (them refuelling after you return it). Can be a bit of a minefield just comparing headline rates.
As John says book early, don't pay and recheck weekly and if the price drops cancel and rebook.
