Does anyone know anything about this..

Infrastructures. The City of Santa Pola has given an ultimatum to the company that provides fiber optic and telephone service to a part of Gran Alacant, after detecting that it occupied municipal facilities. The firm says it already has an alternative.
The company Grannet has reached an agreement with the City of Santa Pola in which it undertakes to remove the wiring that occupies municipal electricity lines before January 9. With this, they assure from the company that there will be no cut of services to their customers. The firm clarified that they have a ready alternative to replace the connection that at the moment was using municipal facilities to fill two developments on the Mediterranean Avenue in Gran Alacant. Thus, they predict that there will be no affected because the service is completely covered by the decision to remove the fiber optic cable and they want to give a message of tranquility and settle doubts before their customers. Currently, the service is guaranteed by new fiber optic cables that run through Telefónica's infrastructure in the area.

Santa Pola City Council gave an ultimatum to the company last week, when it announced to the provider of telephone and satellite television services the imminent cut of said supplies in part of Gran Alacant.

The Department of Infrastructures, headed by Francisco Soler, was motivated this decision by a report from the head of municipal electricity services, dated 8 November, which showed that public lighting installations were being used for the Fiber optic cabling, something prohibited by current legislation. After several meetings with the company, he was required on several occasions to remove the wiring from the municipal pipelines, but, Soler warned, "they ignored it and continued to use it."

According to Consistory sources, last September the firm was notified, in execution format, that it required the immediate removal of the wiring under very precise conditions. Since the mercantile did not execute the ordered order, it was advised in a sufficient time for its withdrawal or the City Council would act in time and legal form, charging the execution expenses on the company. The result was immediate and the response of the company, concerned about the social alarm and the possibility of certain sectors suffering a cut of supply, resulted in an agreement between the City and the company, so that they will remove these facilities. Even so, from the area of Infrastructures they warned that they do not know the totality of the pipelines occupied and, therefore, they will follow up and control the procedure of extraction of the fiber installed by Grannet.

If you have any questions about the process for customers that could be affected, Grannet recommends contacting the company. Anyway, from the City Hall warned that, if on January 9, fiber is detected in some public sewerage, the wiring of the firm will be cut and removed.
