My missus uses this fabulous shop. I went with her once and not only does the lady speak English, but they are super friendly, and seem to run some kind of knitting club. People were knitting everywhere. Seemed very well stocked too. The sort of business one likes to see do well! It's very close to the theatre in Alicante:

Even online you can see the effort they make in fairness.

There is a fabulous little haberdashers shop in Santa pola that sells wool, needles, trimmings, all the works.   Its on Calle Mayor at the junction with Carrer de Sant Antonio.    Its just across the road from the old covered market and cafes.

Great post.  I've been wanting  to get back into knitting for a while now. So I will be going off to the shop in Alicante as I see that do the Katia wool which I can't get where I live.

Jacky has now been to the one in Alicante and whilst it has a larger range than the one in Santa Pola (details below) the (Katia) wool was cheaper. So she will be sticking with the one in Santa Pola. It's called Merceria A Ca La SUSI and is near the main square just up from Bankia on La Cruz. It's a bit of an Aladdins cave considering how much they squeeze in.
