After 12 years and hiring dozens of cars for our stays in GA on our latest 3 week visit over Easter we decided to not hire a car. The result i have to say was a resounding success, the taxi from the airport to our front door was 17 euros. During the following 3 weeks we walked endless miles around GA and utilised the local buses frequently. For 1.50 you can travel around GA to Santa Pola and Alicante with buses being punctual and efficient. We even caught the bus back to the airport again at 1.50 each. We took a couple of official taxis from the rank outside Lidl again only 6/7 euros if going on a night out further afield. Over 3 weeks we spent probably 80 euros on getting around so really impressed.
