Solicitor or lawyer
« on: February 06, 2015, 17:06. »
We are getting a new - cheaper - mortgage on our house, but first has to go through ice and fire of paperwork etc. and a notary meeting to have it all approved. As we are not in Spain ourselves at the time of the meeting, we need to authorize some spanish speaking assistant to go in stead. Not sure if it has to be a lawyer or solicitor -or anyone.?..It is also a matter of making sure in advance that the paperwork is in order. Any suggestions as to who could help us out?

If you are getting legal documents signed on your behalf, you will need a Power of Attorney. We signed one here in the UK for our Spanish lawyer to act for us but it had to be sworn before a notarised UK solicitor.
