Has anyone bought one of these from the local Correos?
They're not required in Alicante at the moment but like France I can see them being brought in all over Spain eventually as it's another tax.

I tried to buy one today (despite the queue) ,the DGT was not available to purchase until next week, the lady was very helpful and said Santa Pola could not provide one at this stage.
She did require my passport number and luckily I had a copy with all my documents.

I think you will definitely need one for Paris and Madrid. Whether you need a French one as well as a Spanish one I don't know. The good news is the French one only costs 5 euros as well so if it's not needed it's not the end of the world.

Update - I've ordered mine on line from
https://www.pegatinas-dgt.com/
It cost 6.50 euros posted to my Spanish address. They need your reg and you upload your passport and your permission to drive. They show you what they want on the webpage. It took less than 5 minutes and you can pay by PayPal.
Warning - There are other sites which will do it for you and save you the hassle, the one I found wanted 38.50 euros.

Hi Guys, has anybody tried to apply with a UK registration number? the website only seems to accept Spanish registration numbers.

On my motor homing forum, the word is you can't do it for non-Spanish registration but if you have French Crit-Aire it seems that it will be acceptable for UK registered cars.

Thanks Tony, we got the Crit-aire for the car back in January. that was surprisingly easy, so next week will put it to the test - see what happen.

Two low emission zones now up and running in Alicante, from 1st October 2023, one is Gran Via, the other is the city centre area. You must display an environmental sticker to drive in these zones, otherwise potentially 200 euro fine.

Not sure of exact parameters for the "city centre", trying to find out.
