Just a quick question. Are you allowed to take food in your luggage from UK to spain. Have a request from a neighbour to take some items out. Thanks in advance

Would love to know what the items are. Just in case they are even more amusing than the thought of someone flying about the place with a dozen pies. Maybe I can recommend somewhere you can get these items.

We take our favourite tea and coffee both are not sold in Spain other than that the products in Lidl/ Aldi are the same in GA, Grimsby or Gothenburg. I do recall back in the old days a neighbour used to bring a suitcase of frozen bacon and sausage, cheese etc it used to last them 6 months.

I take sausages everytime I go. Never have problem at the Spanish end but Birmingham security always assume they're sticks of dynamite. I took a jar of Nescafe as well this time. The security lass held it up and asked me to confirm what was in the jar - I said Nescafe.

I always take bacon with me in my hand luggage and have often taken fillet steak as find it hard to get a decent steak in Spain. Never had any problems

You can get Nescafé in most supermarkets in Spain!

We had our bag searched in the uk, quite embarrassing when they pulled out the Yorkshire teabags, rich tea biscuits and cream crackers. The guy just smiled, obviously used to it.
