How about      THE UK PUNISH EXPATS FOR HAVING BEEN VACCINATED ABROAD.    Reading the UK rules for being exempt from isolating after being contacted by Test and Trace it still says that only people who have been vaccinated by the NHS are exempt.
You do not need to self-isolate if any of the following apply:

you're fully vaccinated – this means 14 days have passed since your final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine given by the NHS

Anyone know any different......A quick trip back could end up costly.

Approved vaccines and list of countries and territories with approved COVID-19 proof of vaccination for travel to England.

...

What you need to do when you travel to England depends on whether you qualify as fully vaccinated or not.

To qualify under the fully vaccinated rules for travel to England, you must have proof of full vaccination with a full course of an approved vaccine. The proof must have been issued by either:

  • the UK or UK overseas vaccination programme
  • the United Nations vaccine programme for staff and volunteers
  • one of the countries or territories listed below

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/countries-with-approved-covid-19-vaccination-programmes-and-proof-of-vaccination

...excerpt:

Spain   EU DCC. You can use this to add proof of vaccination status in the UK passenger locator form. You must be fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine.

This was updated 17/11/21 and it still says vaccinated in the UK.

Contacts who are not required to self-isolate
You will not be required to self-isolate if you are notified you have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 and any of the following apply:

you are fully vaccinated
you are below the age of 18 years 6 months
you have taken part in or are currently part of an approved COVID-19 vaccine trial
you are not able to get vaccinated for medical reasons
Fully vaccinated means that you have been vaccinated with an MHRA approved COVID-19 vaccine in the UK, and at least 14 days have passed since you received the recommended doses of that vaccine.

Say no more....https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/motsi-mabuse-calls-out-double-25562085

So the UK does NOT accept vax from other countries. If contacted by test and trace they will tell you to isolate for 10 days. Big problem if your trip is shorter than 10 days .

Same old nonsense, I guess she got a non-approved vaccine in Germany, or anything else, including perhaps no vaccine at all.

This is the regularly updated list of approved vaccines from approved countries. Spain is on it. Has been for ages, my preferred source of up to date information over the The Mirror:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/countries-with-approved-covid-19-vaccination-programmes-and-proof-of-vaccination

Relevant sections:

To qualify under the fully vaccinated rules for travel to England, you must have proof of full vaccination with a full course of an approved vaccine. The proof must have been issued by either:

the UK or UK overseas vaccination programme
the United Nations vaccine programme for staff and volunteers
one of the countries or territories listed below

...

You must have had a complete course of one of the following vaccines at least 14 days before you arrive in England:

Oxford/AstraZeneca
Pfizer BioNTech
Moderna
Janssen
Sinovac-CoronaVac
Sinopharm Beijing
Covaxin

...

Spain   EU DCC. You can use this to add proof of vaccination status in the UK passenger locator form. You must be fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine.

Hi all   would anyone living in England please ring 119 and ask the question to Test and trace if a person double  vaccinated in Spain would need to isolate for 10 days if they have been in contact with someone on the plane when traveling to England. Many Thanks.

Just rung 119 and they said that if someone tests positive for Covid who has been on the same plane as you, you do have to self isolate for 10 days even though you are fully vaccinated. The reason being is that the vaccination was not given in the UK even though you have been given a recognised and approved vaccine.

Thankyou SueB  I know it does not make sense as the vaccines come from the same place but not following test and trace rules could be quite costly . If i had phoned, people would have said i was making it up. It is an eye opener of what is on offer when they contact you.500£ compensation if you are self employed, volunteers to come and do your shopping, care for the elderly and finally psychiatric help if you start to feel depressed with isolating. What they wont let you do is catch a flight home to Spain. Once you are on their radar they are relentless contacting you.   Also alicante are stamping passports whether resident or not. I wonder why.

If you have a TIE you do not even need to show your passport at Alicante arrivals, just your TIE. This was my experience on Wednesday evening.
