Bad news .....

Looks like it was on the roof of the "B" terminal side ...

Looking at the airport it seems to be the roof where  passport control is. No idea if that’s B terminal. We see workmen on the roof earlier.

Have only seen one plane land so far.

Looks like it is above what was the large bar and where you turn right to go to the 'B' gates. I'm sure I read somewhere that they were going to open a viewing terrace, but can't remember in what or when.

Was due to fly home Thursday at 10:30 with Ryanair, not expecting to be going anywhere I set my alarm to six anyway and woke to find an email saying our flight would go ahead at the stated time but from Murcia airport and could we find our own way there and arrive three hours before departure time, as the car hire returns desk at Alicante airport don't open untill seven this was impossible, so we are still in GA but booked for today Friday in the evening, managed to get hire car back Thursday p.m. so that's done. Been a b****rs muddle.

Think I have read that right .... it wont be "airside" ?   So its before security .... as the article says, OK for people waiting for flights to arrive or watching them off. I rarely stay the public side of security when I am fly back home ...

Been through airport this evening , only half open, the bigger part of the building with the most gates is shut off and in darkness.

Fire Brigade were still there this morning, up on the roof doing inspections and yes, lots of queues due to the partial closure, but flights operating normally.

Sounds like the Gota Fria we have coming in is compounding the problems - probably the roof full of holes so flooding risk inside ....

Plus the very strong winds, fears of flying debris from the damaged roof.
