PETITION FOR TAXIS IN GRAN ALACANT

[Alicante Holiday Villas]

A petition has been started by Laura from Gran Alacant Properties to request a taxi rank at the Carabassi Commercial Centre in Gran Alacant. This is a much needed service in Gran Alacant as has been discussed here many times! Therefore would request that as many of you sign the petition as possible - thanks in advance

The taxi drivers also need to learn the layout and street names of Gran Alacant.  I know many people would be very happy to use them rather than the 'illegal taxis' to get to the airport, if only they could be confident that they would turn up at the correct address.

One night last week a neighbour of ours rang for a taxi to take them to the emergency department of a hospital in Alicante, giving the correct address of their house.  They were told that the taxi would be with them in 10 minutes.  Following many more calls the taxi arrived after about 40 minutes because they couldn't find the house, and even then only because we had people posted at both ends of the street to guide them in.

There is a taxi station on Altomar 1 and 2 near to the doctors and library that has not been used for years, It would be ideal now for the legal taxis. Carabassi is not too good for people in the Urbinisations along Avd.  Escandinavia, for example, Altomar 1 and 2, Gran Vista,  etc.

Think we only have 2 taxis on GA. Will they be able to be everywhere
