Santa Pola bus station
« on: January 31, 2016, 12:25. »
We walked into Santa Pola yesterday and had a look at the new bus station which was supposed to be built on the land across from the old one.
It was difficult to spot at first.  Two thirds of the site was taken up by a large building made out of corrugated metal that looked like the buildings you find on an industrial park.  It was empty.
The remaining third was mostly taken up by a filling station and associated automatic car wash units.  We did not see any cars.
Between these - almost as an afterthought - was the 'bus station'.  It is about as big as the 'old' bus station but obviously looks newer.  We never saw any bus stopping there or people waiting.  There were several buses using the 'old' bus station.

Does anyone know why the new bus station is not being used?

One bus company had a hand in building it, the other did not, so will not use it. Complaints of noise from a nearby resident means it was closed down for a while, but this has now been sorted, so we are told.
