Trains to Madrid
« on: October 31, 2015, 17:21. »
Hi, has anyone used the train to Madrid and back. Looking to do a trip in February either return or fly into Madrid from UK and train to Alicante. Looks like you can only book up to 2 months in advance but the RENFE site is rather confusing and can't seem to get a price for return tickets or one way at anytime. Is there another site you can use more English friendly? Or any ideas

Hi,
Done that many times and booked via either the renfe site or app.
You can change the site language to english, it's not the most under friendly site, but works.

Use Rail Europe. Their site is easy to use and in English. I use it for all my foreign rail tickets.

We used the train after booking on RENFE site, very easy to do in the end. Cost for a first class ticket was 44 euros each which included entrance to VIP lounge at station with free drinks, snacks etc, large leather seats on train, a 3 course meal with wine, tea and a liquor if wanted. Great journey seeing the countryside and only took 2 hours 20 minutes . Would recommend highly and will use for other city trips.
