Builder took money failed to do the work!

Can anyone help? Last September when visiting my house in V :(ista Bahia 111 I paid a local builder 320 euros for minor works to my house. I returned to England and to date no work had been carried out despite constant requests via e mail. Ok so I was a mug to pay I front but I trusted this guy as his local GA company had done more major works last year and were brilliant. I trusted him! Never again........😔
What us the best course of action? I'm out again next month.


Wednesday evening and BINGO !!!!!!!!!  :)
Result! Works to be completed .

Hate to say it but never pay up front it gives them no incentive to do the job .

I think you may need to confront them face to face it's easy to ignore emails etc  I suspect for a relatively small amount like that it would not be cost effective to go the legal route...

Denuncia might do the trick - that's the correct and common approach in these circumstances

We have someone who owes us money because, he has no money......this was a few years back.
He has lost a fortune after the amount of people we have told not to use him.
Sometimes it is better to pay up as you lose far more in the long run.

As always there are 2 sides to every story, i think before naming and shaming the other party should at least be given every, opportunity to give there side. Otherwise this name and shame will be used as seen before on the plaza to persecute innocent people

Victor, Precisely why I haven't named and shamed ! It may only seem a small sum but it's still not right. I had received repeated promises early on that the work would be completed but I'm being ignored now. A simple explanation if the mans business is in trouble would have surficed.
