Car hire via Ryanair crazy
« on: June 18, 2015, 18:06. »
Can't believe it just booked a week in July with Ryanair then went to centauro and most of others to look at car hire it was about €150 which I thought was ok

Then went back to Ryanair and they were offering a small car for €12.71 yes €12.71 for the week I thought this must be a mistake that's less than the day rate for all the others so I booked it never used them before for car hire and expected it to come up as an error but no it went through and even sent me an email to confirm the price you have to buy a tank of petrol and don't get a refund but I'll just syphon out what I don't need and give it to a mate

Be interesting to see what happens at pick up of car surely it must a mistake that will get picked up then but here hoping

Still bargains out there or mistakes !!!!!

Amazing

What hire company did Ryanair book you with? That in itself might tell you what to expect.

I remember using firefly when they first opened, they insisted i take out breakdown insurance on their car as it was only covered within 10miles of the airport and if it broke down outsude this area i would be charged €50 recovery for there vehicle,  as said they were a nightmare and we haven't been back since.
They dont like it up em !

Friend of mine used Firefly 2 years back, had to leave deposit having refused insurance extra, never saw it again - and yes, the car was returned spotless

It's like all the Spanish car hire companies they all try to put the frigheners on you to make you take the extra insurance out.

Well looks like it was all okay picked car up last Tuesday there was a bit of pointing at the price I paid and a manager looked at the booking shook his shoulders and left us to it then came the hard sell . You need extra insurance breakdown cover etc etc I declined it all they then insisted on blocking €1650 euros on my card ..... Lots more than centauro ever do  and I left with a fiat panda 4 door which is actually an up grade!!! Took photos all round checked oil etc

Took it back this morning with a full tank of petrol good system they had a guy who checked it all over and gave me a form to give into office with keys saying it was all ok . Lady behind desk said they would remove block and charge me €25  for the fuel handling which is normal with all firms ....

Overall a weeks car hire in summer for less than £40. Result
