La Marina ... Sardinas

Sue and I were shopping around some garden centres today .. long story short ... got fed up with that and remembered that we had visited a lovely café/bar/restaurant on the beach at La Marina many years ago (I still don´t know the name of it) and decided to visit again. Our memories were of the fresh sardines and lovely bread so we ordered them again ... still fabulous, sat overlooking the long, long beach, wonderful, with very inexpensive food and a cool pint of beer. My idea of heaven.

Are we talking about the beach at El Pinet here, where there is a long line of beachfront houses? If so, the restaurant at the northern - Alicante - end is the Hostal Galicia wherein I have had many a nice lunch, in the middle there is a smaller place called, I think, Hostal Maruja and at the southern end there is another snack bar/cafeteria type place which also does very good food and whose name escapes me right now, sorry. but they serve a nice glass of Mahou

Not at El Pinet, Candela is on the main La Marina beach. Of course, it could well be the one Les is referring to.
