I understand Darby's chippy has closed.  If so, that's a big loss.  Anyone know whether this is true?

Its been for sale for a very long time (as a number of places are) - Its not advertising in the GA Advertiser this month which might indicate you are right

Shame if it isn't going to be kept as a chippy.

I was thinking what we are short of in GA that could fit in there.  Maybe a Chinese shop, Hairdressers or Estate Agents eh?  8)

Just read elsewhere that it’ll be reopening in about a months time as fish and chip shop.
Not a bad plate of fish and chips can be had at The Aquarius, upstairs on the Shirley Bassey strip.

Seems it going to reopen tomorrow under the new name The Chippy 2 the new owners have a chip shop in La Marina called The Chippy. They seem to get good reviews on Tripadvisor.
