We have a very large Yucca tree in our garden which is causing us concern as we think the roots may be causing cracks to appear in our garden wall.

We'd like to get rid of it fairly soon- anyone know of someone local who can help us deal with it?

We took a reatively small one, about five feet tall out of our garden for exactly the same reason.  They are high water users and will suck moisture out of anything near to store in the trunk.  If you drill it water will pour out. Took a lot of hard work but we eventually got the whole thing including the root ball, out.  Make sure the root ball does get taken out or it will shoot away again.

We ended up getting a Spanish chap called Pepe on the recommendation of our local communal gardener, he and his partner did the job very thoroughly including the root ball, removed all the debris and left the site in a clean and tidy condition for 80 euros which we thought was reasonable.

His number is 669586456, but I'm afraid he is Spanish-speaking only (oh the benefits of having a wife who is fluent in Spanish!)
