Restaurante Matola Wins Award

Just been reading that the Matola has won an award for their paellas......cooked in the traditional style preserving all the flavours the article says.

We will be sampling that on our next visit  :)

Regards all

Weve eaten at Matolas on a few occasions,  i remember the first time i ordered the fish ,several moments later the waiter bought out this lovely uncooked fresh fish on a platter complete with head and tail, very proudly he told me when it was caught. 30 minutes later the fish returned now cooked and minus head and tail as the star of the dish, not a cheap meal but very nice.
They dont like it up em !

Yes loved the paellas hear, plus you can have one each (not min 2 person)
As I chose rabbit and snail, the rest of the family would of not shared that one with me, and happily had the sea food!

Last night was our second visit to Matola and it did not disappoint.  Our friends next door joined us and were also impressed with the restaurant, the food and the staff.  We understand it becomes busy at the weekend, however we were the only patrons in the restaurant.  They deserve more custom as it is a very good addition to GA. We are planning to to try their tapas menu sometime. Jen

We went to Matola tonight with a friend, what a gem.
Looks and feels like a restaurant, very good service and what great food.
Three of us went and rated it as one of our best ever meals in GA
I had the rabbit and snail paella, superb.......gorgeous sticky rice, a friend had the lamb chops, looked like a great choice, Mrs H had the chicken paella...she loved it.
A restaurant we will be returning to.

Regards all
