Had a great morning in Puerto de la Cruz yesterday, came back via Teide, off for a walk this am down to Caleta and then a touch of retail therapy in Americas

It's still standing then!

That top photo must be on a million postcards, one of the most iconic views on the island. Back in the late 70's I took a photo of a friend appearing to be holding up the stack, probably so did hundreds of people. In those days you could climb freely to the top of Teide and sit on the highest point, cable car to 500mtrs short of the top then a zig zag climb which left you quite breathless (the air is a bit thinner at 12,000 feet.). These days I believe you need a permit to climb to the top and it is very restricted access.
