Hi
Coming to GA in March. We know the area quite well but aren't bothering to hire a car this time.
Does anyone have any phone numbers of good, reliable, local taxis please?
Thanks
Lou

Hiya, you've got a few options, there's the Bailie bus that covers GA and their buses that run into Alicante and Santa Pola.
There's the legal taxis, number attached, pricier than the illegals and don't know their way round GA as well, I've attached the number of a good firm
There are quite a few illegal/unlicensed drivers in the area, ask in any bar and they'll give you a few numbers......never been let down by any of these guys, turned up on time, cars clean and appear to be well maintained, drivers give me more confidence than the legals, you pays your money and takes your choice

Hi John/all
Do you know where in Gran Alacant you can get the Santa Pola bus (i'm near the church) and where in Santa Pola does the bus drop off?
I'm trying to get near the "Burger King" roundabout near the marina.
We usually rent a car, but I'm thinking of making a trip without the hire car for a change.
Best Regards,
Brandon

Hi Brandon, from your place I reckon the nearest bus stop would be the one across the road from Consum
Drops off in SP I would guess now in the new bus station, other wise across the road, 30 metres from McDonalds.......5 minute steady walk to Burger King

I like to think of the illegal taxis as "Uber drivers" it just sounds better haha. In fairness they are paving the way (kinda)

Er as the wife of a london black cab driver Uber is a massive swear word in our house

Many thanks for the information on taxis. Much appreciated :-)

the problem with the 'legal' taxi's is they charge u from santa pola as the starting point not from g.a thus 6 euro extra to the airport. I have been coming to g.a for 10 year & never have my flights connected to the local bus unless you want to wait 4 hours @ the airport.
