Hi John,

I can see how someone who hasn't researched the subject might believe the MOT was ok, but the number plates?? - that I just don't see as a mistake!

Very strange, the car would have had to be entered on the MOT database with a Spanish VRM, and how did it pass the headlights test?

Perhaps because the car was originally a UK vehicle taken to Spain and then registered there - which could explain the UK plate on the front (although anyone really should know that both plates have to be the same). Maybe the guy kept his UK headlights and put them back on the car for the UK test?? There is not enough information in the press cutting to be sure, but whatever the truth of it the whole thing is indeed very strange.
