Iberdrola Charges
« on: October 29, 2020, 14:26. »
Hi All,

Can anyone advise what the "Home Electrical Protection" charge of €6.36 for each month on the Iberdrola bill?
Is this necessary or can it be cancelled without issue?

Best regards,
Brandon

They started adding this a few years ago, covers you for damage to electrical appliances if damaged due to power issues. We got it removed as soon as noticed, did it via online chat or something similar

Hi

Just looked at my latest bill.

This is it
For the power contact (I assume standing charge) 20.89
Electricity uses 2.68
Electric Tax 1.19
Hire of Equipment .85
tax IVA 5.34
Total 30.75

That is for the house being empty and just the fridge being on. Is there a cheaper option I wonder?

Derek

yes u will be charged if all is switched off, ours is 27 euro monthly when house is empty. If u leave fridge on electric usage will be around 2 euro monthly, the rest is for meter hire, vat, etc.

Can someone enlighten me re: the Iberdrola discounts?
There seems to be 3 tiers of discount - night-time, Daytime and all day,
but you have to go through the mill to find the discount rates. All Day
is 10%, but I'd appreciate your recommendations re: the other two tiers.

I power off at the panel when we go home, I've had the occasional tripping of the RCD (earth leakage trip) when in the house someone on our phase had same thing and came out to their house to a putrid fridge, food had gone rotten. We had two weeks in our house in October first time in eight months, the house was full of dust, god knows where it came from
