Title: Car tax
Post by: Maria Jones on September 05, 2020, 21:27.: We are new to the forum,We have had our house for 14 years.We haven't been out since the beginning of March and our car tax is due but our neighbour said our reminder hasn't come through.I was wondering if anyone had any advice on renewing it.My husband is disabled and any advice will be greatfull.We bought the car off Frank FWR . But I have tried the number he gave me but the person said I had to go to Santa Pola town hall,at the moment the Welsh government are against.travelling please can someone help.

This is the facebook page for the town hall on the left of the page you can send a message and ask if there is anything in place to pay online as the uk gov recommends against travel. They did extend the deadline but i cant remember how long.

It would appear that the cut off date was extended to 1stSept. I think they add a few euros to the bill as a fine for late payment.

Post by: margate john on September 09, 2020, 18:34.: If it helps (!) I'm in a similar boat with car tax - haven't been out since March and don't know when we're next likely to be there. Anyway, I was redirected by the Santa Pola town hall "rentas" department to SUMA, who they hand things over to when the tax becomes overdue - had an exchange with them, having given them details of car registration/NIE. The fine for late payment was just over 3 Euros, and paying the whole thing on line was easy. Next problem when we eventually get there will be the out of date ITV........!!

Post by: Maria Jones on September 10, 2020, 10:24.: I messaged Santa Pola town hall and they gave me an email address for the suma.I explained my situation and they have sent me the reminder via email this morning,so hopefully I'll get it sorted today. I am lucky my neighbour took the car to get the itv.Thankyou for your replies.

Post by: Ron l on September 18, 2020, 12:09.: Payment through the City Council website could be made until September 1.
The procedure to make the payment now is as follows.
They must send an email to the address rentas1@santapola.es and attach the details of the vehicle for which they wish to make the payment and they will generate a new payment document and explain where and how they can pay the vehicle tax.
This is the message I got from the council today, sent the info off at around 11-00 o’clock, so will see when or if I get a reply

I inform you that the voluntary payment period for Vehicle Tax ended on 09/01/2020.
As of that date, the management no longer corresponds to the City Council, but to SUMA (Organism of the Diputación de Alicante), so in order to make the payment, you have to contact said Organism, by email: oficina.santapola@suma.es

Post by: Alan on September 18, 2020, 13:49.: Despite the very prompt and helpful response by Maria to my initial enquiry, I didn't actually manage to send an email to SUMA, oficina .santapola@suma.es, until 5:48 pm yesterday. This morning at 07:11 am, I received a response and have now paid the tax. All in all a surprisingly simple process.

Post by: mikehoward on September 21, 2020, 16:11.: Hi, don't know what order they answer the e-mails in but I got a response at 8:00 this morning, 11 days after the original request.
Two mails one with the documentation, which you need as it contains the reference details on your bill, the other the link to the SUMA payment site. As others have said very simple and quick and only a €3 fine. I provided name/address/NIE number and car reg.
