Duplicate or Replacement NIE Certficate
« on: January 31, 2016, 12:34. »
Need a bit of help here. Does anyone know how you go about obtaining a replacement or duplicate NIE Number certificate. Never did get it from my solicitor and when I looked for a copy it couldn't be found.

Thanks
Martin

Hi Martin, from my understanding if you have the number of your certificate somewhere, (bank account maybe, deeds for one of the houses) you can get a replacement at the police station.......guess you'll have to take some ID
Hope this helps

Regards all

John

Thanks for that John. Now for the bonus points. I live in Ireland so if I go to the Police Station will they still issue a duplicate and will if be done on the same day.

From what I understand it will be done on the same day......regardless of where you live you need an NIE number to own a property in Spain, have a bank a point etc etc

Chances are it could be quite entertaining trying to get one.

you may have to go first to Guardia Civil to get a certificate you lost it, and then to extranjería - from where you have to go to a bank, and then later come back to get the card issued (seem to remember it comes from Madrid). Also, you may have to get first of all una cita with extranjería ...

It might be easier to just get a brand new one and see if they notice.

I am sure Rosa (646141903 or rosa@rosahelps.com) can help with this no problem. Never miss an opportunity to recommend her! I know she once took a guy we know to the police station after losing his NIE, so I assume a replacement or new one was also sorted.
