....and don't you need a "tourist licence" of some kind to rent your property out?

You'd end up getting slapped a fine for not having one if you declared a rental income Spurs....I'd just pay the tax and offset the expense against the cheap booze and dining out 😉

Regards all

John

Yes you do need a tourist license which costs c200 euros from memory, if you don’t have it you can face very high fines or worse!! Also all the major rental sites eg Airbnb are required by law to provide details if any rental income direct to Spanish tax authorities and the Spanish also check websites etc for illegal rentals.

Yes a Tourist Licence is needed in the Valencian Community in order to rent out your property and indeed advertise it either in print or via the Web.

The cost of obtaining the CCU (Certificado de Compatibilidad Urbano) from the Town Hall is €53. You need this to apply for the Tourist Licence from the Registro for which there is no charge   8)

Highly recommend this guy to keep the cost down. Last year we paid him €40 to do our non resident tax.
