If you have a job and are paying taxes, why can't you show your income ?
Not earning enough, apparently if you can show €20000 in bank you can stay but if you’re only earning 2000€ pm you’re unlikely to have 20k euros

So it seems you can show your income but it's just not enough.

A lot of retired people could show 20,000 in the bank but would not have an income of 2,000 each month.

Worth posting to add nothing else than my agreement with the majority. Spain won't mourn the loss of this lot using an EHIC card for healthcare for twenty years... and some of them complaining about the "spongers" and immigrants in the UK of course! Good riddance.

Not sure I see the issue here everyone knew that you had to apply and if you were already there and had been for a while it was almost automatic you didn’t need to prove income or anything. They had 15 months to apply so I can only assume those that didn’t either didn’t want , forgot or had something to hide

The downside is that it is going to bump up the DSS bill which WE are paying!

.....and I wonder if these folk do get the "boot" will we see less cars on English number plates running around GA?
There are a few that I know have been there for a several years, I did check one,  it's MOT history on the DVLA website showed that it had been well over 2 years since it's last MOT...
I would therefore assume that any insurance, if indeed it had any, would be worthless...

Regards all

Well we did our photos and fingerprints yesterday which was the final part of the application.

The new TIE cards will be available for collection in ten weeks time, which is relatively quick for here really 😃

I wonder what would happen if you took a photo and reported the car to the DVLA as untaxed and un-MOTed  via their website? I'm guessing it only applies in the UK.
