Perhaps James and Lisa have decided that all work and no play isn’t what they wanted to get out of their new life in GA, in which case it’s fair play to them in my book.

A perk of running your own business that supports the life style you want

Maybe with all these days off they could get the card machine fixed and stop being a cash only establishment. Its all seems a bit fishy..

I assure you that with James and Lisa at the helm everything will be above board, the i’s will be dotted and t’s crossed.
Maybe the previous owner didn’t want to hand a percentage of his turnover to a credit/debit card company?
Did you ask him why he didn’t take them?
It’s his business, he can do what he wants, we all have choices

I agree with John, those machines cost a lot of money to the owners in running costs, also a lot of  transactions will cost the card owner more, using those machines leaves you liable to being skimmed which happened to me recently. And there's a ATM about 25 metres away if you're a little short

Thankyou John, in that case i will fall on my sword as i haven't been in GA since early May so behind with the latest coming and goings.
At 6 foot im not short just a bit tight llamedos, the cash only rule caused me major embarrassment last year, when we took 10 friends to the Belfry for a birthday meal, After copious amounts of wine i announce its my treat and duly produce the plastic to be told yet again the machine doesnt work, i stumble over to the Deutsch to meet a toffee crisp out of order moment. I arrive back at said eaterie to ask to borrow 200 euros, eventually said bill was paid. Like i said all a bit fishy but beef was lovely.
Looking forward to trying out new launch.
