We collected plastic tops for years whilst in Spain and dropped them off at various bars. We never found out which charities benefitted and never seen a thank you letter or anything. In the UK a few years ago there was warnings about this as a scam as people said they were for charity for cashed them in at recycling centres that pay per tonne.
One local story a few years ago

I think you can drop them off at the medical center.
