Abandoned car
« on: May 05, 2016, 22:56. »
There's an old abandoned car in Avda de Polonia and it's been there for about 6 months. It has stickers on so someone must have seen it. How do I go about getting it removed?
Thanks
Pauline

Think the stickers are to allow it to be moved by the owner before action is taken. Go into the GA Council Office and speak to the young lady in the far left hand room.

Is that the red Ford Escort with the windows open Pauline?
Some friends of ours reported it last year

Bit like the boat on Altomar 2, since at least 2004 an ex US Army inflatable has been sitting on it's trailer outside our place, last year the Admin stuck a notice on it warning it would be removed after 6 months if not claimed by the owner, that was over 12 months ago now and still it sits there.

Not holding my breath at the minute.

Good luck with the car.  We had the same problem a few years ago.  Thought I'd be clever & persuade one of the bin scavengers to take it a bit at a time, but they were all afraid.
When the police stick the notices on it, it still takes over 6 months before they recover it.  My fear at the time was that it would end up torched & make even more mess, but we got there in the end.

Hi Mike, maybe waiting for the tide to come in.

I have, on occasion, prayed for a Noah like flood that might carry the thing down the hill and far away, but no luck as yet  :)
