Probably a reflection of the security concerns in Turkey for all travellers.

well, nice city - must be I like (together with the millions who turned Istanbul in the airport with the biggest traffic increase in the world last year) danger  :-)

Anyone for a game of backgammon? See the picture - price brought down from 450$ to only 200$ after quite a bit of haggling, over two teas. Handmade, 4 types of wood, camel bone ... A steal   :-)

Never been to Istanbul. Gateway to the East and great meeting place for people from all over the world. Maybe one day. Maybe other places nearby as well...........Ukraine for instance.

We've been to Istanbul a couple of times. Stayed in a house on the Bosphorus, travelled the Bosphorus in a speed boat, flew over the city in a Helicopter and saw John Malkovich queuing up behind us at the Hagia Sophia. Did the Grand Bazaar, The Koc Museum, the Galleta Tower and Top Kapi Palace among other things including eating at some very good restaurants.   All in all we had a bloody good time
