Title: Internet Cafe
Post by: John H on September 29, 2018, 11:50.
Murphy has just asked me to let forum memebers know that the Internet Cafe in upper GA will close its door for the final time at 2.00pm today, leaving GA without an internet cafe.
Obviously if you still use this facility to print boarding cards you will need to find another solution.

Hi John,

Which internet cafe is this?

Before I got a printer at home I always used Gran Alacant Services above La Piedra. It's not the same place is it? A sad loss if it is.

I don’t know Dave, Murphy said it was the one in upper GA and it was the only one in GA.....must be one and the same

Sorry I can’t be definitive

You can get stuff printed in the place opposite the PC  repair shop in the main GA if you need it.

I think it's called Ciber  it's facing quicksave  supermarket.

Thanks John / Cath

If it's Ciber near Quicksave then it's not GA Services which is a big relief.

Although I don't do my boarding passes there anymore I have all my Amazon / Ebay stuff delivered there as the third world postal service on GA doesn't seem to allow the postman to find my post box unless it's a bill from Aquagest or Iberdrola that he's been bringing for the last 16 years.

For anyone who has not used GA Services before I would recommend them unreservedly.

Fake news is the norm these days & talking down GA, yes Ciber has close due to high rental, John (super guy Brazilian gent) is now working in 24 hours shop adjacent to  BVBA bank, however like we are being informed GA services are still open, doing a super job but only Monday to Friday, why does Murphy as some one else to pass on Fake/ False new

Is GA services an Internet cafe Jim?
Can you go in and spend half an hour sat in front of a PC surfing the net?
I’ve got no idea, but if it isn’t what’s false/fake in what he asked me to pass on?
If it is false I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, like most posts on here it’s done to the best of someone’s belief. Calling it fake news is a bit out of order in my belief, as that implies it was done intentionally.

Isn't the one in Sierra Mar still open? There is always the library, of course.

Morning John,

GA Services is an internet cafe - but very much more as can be seen from their website.

Jim,

If Ciber is only an internet cafe then being pedantic I suppose it may be the only specialist one (I don't know) and therefore its closure isn't fake news. As John says and knowing Murphy I'm sure he passed on what he knew with the best intentions and at least it may save a few customers a visit to an empty shop.

I have never been in Ciber and apart from seeing the sign outside I had no idea what it was hence the reason for my original post to try to confirm it wasn't GA Services that was closing.

I was in Zest in sierra Mar square yesterday and noticed they print boarding passes etc, a Euro each so not cheap.
Also Aquarius fish and chippy were printing them for customers only.

You can print boarding passes at the library, it's either ten or twenty cents a sheet, you can also use the computers for half a hour, longer if nobody is waiting to use them
