I wonder if they'll have free hotdogs on opening day. I might queue up the night before so I know I can get one.

Im a big Aldi and Lidl fan both in spain and the Uk, but oh boy do they sell some absolute tat in the centre isles, people frantically rummaging through stuff they never knew they needed. Ill skip the free hotdogs for the more worthy of GA who will no doubt be there on the opening with hands out.

Loved Stephen Fry on QI talking about how he loved Sainsbury's.  Extolled their virtue with the reason that they "kept the riff-raff out of Waitrose"

I reckon the Aldi is at least a couple of months from opening looking at the state of the site.

I'm not sure of the exact opening date but it was open yesterday when I passed. No sign of hot dogs though; the car park was fairly quiet.
