We’ve painted loads. All the doors, kitchen, bedrooms cupboards. We used the attached. I prefer paint I know so will be bringing our own over next time but this did do well just couldn’t find all the colours I wanted

Go to paint shop at side of Carrefour .  He will give you all the advice you need along with mix whatever colour.  Speaks good enough English

Hi we drove over.  Bringing some more over next month as well. I guess you could put in suitcase if it’s new sealed and bubble wrapped

It depends where you start from and the route taken. I live just outside Portsmouth so the ferry is a fifteen minute drive. GA is about a 1000 miles from Caen and it takes two longish days. Calais is a bit further and takes two and a half days. Bilbao/Santander to GA is around 500 miles and can be done in a day. To make decent progress you need the autoroutes so you have to factor in tolls as well as fuel/ferry cost plus one or two overnights. It does save hiring a car but when I last costed it some ten years ago, the breakeven for me was about a 4/5 week stay. Via Michelin website will give you costs including tolls.
