Just wondering if anyone has been to this restaurant. We try to find different places to go each time we come out. And as this visit is a working one we are going to stay local. Been past it when walking to the market but never seen a menu. So thought I’d ask on here.  ;D

It looks expensive.  There is a table outside the entrance facing the road with an A4 sheet of paper on it.  This is for the day's special set menu; very little choice; costs more than most GA restaurants. The price has put us off.  One needs to walk up from the roadside to the entrance to read it.  It looks up-market.

Occasionally we see one or two people at a table inside but mostly it's empty.  There are  plastic tables and chairs at the side, opposite the closed-down newsagent, and sometimes two or three are occupied by customers consuming coffee but we have never bothered to investigate further.  We have never been past at night.  It may be busier then.

I must add that we only go past in the winter months on the way to the Life Resort supermarket.  In summer it may be thronging.

Ended up going to Mayka’s Kitchen. Fantastic meal and will definitely go back before we fly home.

Just been down to Maykas for lunch, can’t beat it, all this plus a couple of drinks, tortilla, coffee and cakes, bread basket
for €26.
Maykas always has soya milk in and plenty of gluten free options

Regards all

Varied and chef-prepared food served with unobtrusive style in tasteful surroundings. The three courses plus drinks for the three of us cost 50 Euros. Very good food. Worth the short detour off Av Escandinavia.

As you can see, my recent experience differs from that of some of the earlier reviewers.

We'll check it out again when we get back to Spain in September,
it may have changed in the four and a half years since the previous posts.

Hi John, I assume that was €26 for two of you (So €13 each)?

Yes, you're correct gaveteran, that was for two.
We used to be regular visiters to Maykas, she was a good chef who turned out some great food, her Galician Octopus, only a few euros for a plate was better than any I have paid a lot more for in establishments all over Spain.

Ah! From 2018.  I thought she'd reopened - as I recall she closed in a slightly odd manner hinting at a return.
