Car Import Costs
« on: November 28, 2017, 13:41. »
I have the chance of buying a now UK registered LHD Mercedes. It was originally French and comes with a certificate of conformity.

There are no mechanical on costs - the headlamps are switchable to from RH to LH drive

Any idea of what I can expect to pay when re-registering this in Spain ?

Depends on actual model and date of first registration
The cars value, from a government list of values and emissions are used to calculate the cost.
One of the companies that specialises in doing this would give you the price in minutes....

Regards all

John

PS we imported a VW that had “switchable” headlights, the beam pattern didn’t  pass the ITV, it was a RHD car

Thanks John - just found one that does that - just had to google the Co2 emission and they work it out as you say.

Cheers
