Always surprises me....
« on: August 14, 2017, 09:50. »
......when there's entertainment on in a bar, someone is there singing their heart out and trying to put a show on but folk just sit there chatting away as normal completely ignoring the poor sod.
Just watched a few videos on Facebook of entertainers in various bars in GA over the weekend and this attitude seems to be the norm.
Is it a reflection on the standard of entertainment or do folk have more important things to talk about about!!
It must be soul destroying for the entertainer

John

Seems to be the norm for sure, and not just in GA. I have been to small gigs performed by 'celebrity' acts who have actually stopped the gig to shut people up. Totally agree, must be disheartening for the performer!

You get the same behaviour in the cinema where people have paid good money to watch a film then spend the entire time chatting to each other.
They dont like it up em !

I always try to avoid bars that provide so-called 'entertainment'.

It is infuriating John got to say , but just as bad is when two bars decide to have entertainment on the same night and try "outblast" each other so you get music in stereo ,only problem it's different music , drives you mad !! ,why can't they work with each other?

I've witnessed that a few times bramleylad.
Perhaps the worst intrusion is the diabolical karaoke they have at Big Als, they have some shockers performing there.
It's not a bar I frequent but they do like sharing the power of their loud speakers

Weve been to masa square a few times recently for a meal at saffrons or a drink at Rogers or the Pub and had the intrusion of blaring music coming from Big Als,  i notice they have put screens around big als to stop the customers escaping but sadly the ear bleeding noise finds its way out.

I was in Masa square on Friday listening to the singer in The Pub, then suddenly there was karaoke (I hope it was Karaoke and not a paid singer) blasting into the other ear from Rodgers, what a nightmare at one stage they were both playing the same song, should work out some kind of roster so they don't ruin it for everyone.

We went in the 'new' bar in Masa Square.  It was done out very nice, nice glass for my gin, few peanuts, but the surrounding bars were very noisy.  Think it was called LoungeD.
