the regional government is making noises, so here is the official form to register ... and be on the right side of the law.

Yes all the regional Governments have introduced something similar and it has been a legal requirement for over a year now to register your property for holiday lets in the Valencian Community.

It is a very easy process and you need two additional documents to the link above which are :

NIE Certificate (not just the number)
Habitation Certificate

You will also need the Catastral Reference number for the property.

You can register in person at the office in Alicante and they will give you the licence and registration number there and then or alternatively it will come by post to your Spanish address.

All our properties have been registered and the licence number is displayed on our website and advertising as per the law.   8)

According to the latest statistics from the Regional Government they estimate that 75% of properties offered for rental on the internet are not yet registered. In other regional communities heavy fines have been issued against both owners and advertisers who are offering for rent unregistered properties and Valencia say they will doing the same shortly.

it's not since one year, it's actually since 2009 you are legally obliged:

Had the impression it wasn´t until last year that Valencia decided to adopt the process.

In the Valencian community up until 2015 it was optional to register your property unless you owned 3 or more holiday rental properties.
